Console bushes

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just looking for some input here.

I need the console bushes changing on my mk1 fab but the prices I've been quoted seem to be expensive!

I've had a number of quotes and they all seem to be near the 200 mark! Even for the poweflex ones which are cheaper on labour..

Main dealer wants 175 for cupra bushes including alignment..

So my question to you guys, what's a good price to be paying for them to be fitted? I'm in Cheshire so any recommendations would be great!

I'd have a go myself at fitting the powerflex ones but it has been a while since I had the toolbox out! Haha

Big thanks in advance :)

Using the power flex bushes it is usually an easy job. Done a few sets now and it's nothing you can't do on the drive.

I paid £90 labour when I had front and rear front wishbone bushes fitted to my fabia about a year ago that was by a mobile mechanic next best quote I had was just over £100. That was just labour gives you something to go by

I'm in 2 minds whether to try the powerflex ones myself but as its something I've not done before I'm abit unsure. How hard are the old ones to get out? I've read the powerflex are easy to get in.. could really do with a guide of some sort if anyone can assist?

Again thanks for the help much appreciated

Do it yourself and save your money. It's not hard to do as long as you've got the right tools.

There is a guide can't remember where it's too but the search bar is your friend.

Thanks for the help guys but by the looks of things I'm gonna take then easy root on this one!

Hopefully I'll find somewhere a little cheaper

Boooo!

I've just had mine done today by Ali at Unit 18. Supplied and fitted Ibiza Cupra bushes, plus Hunter wheel alignment for £160.

I will say, the alignment was way out when the new bushes were installed, so I would definitely recommend you getting that done whichever way you go
