New Bolero = No Voice Control

Featured Replies

Has any one got a Yeti (or another model) with the new Bolero (post Wk45/2014) where the voice control actually works?

We got home to find ours does not work and after much manual studying by us and now the dealer no further on so he has now been and checked their PDI cars and non of those work either.

Apparently SUK told him there was not a problem and they checked the details for our VIN and said it should do but he has not yet updated them that non of the rest in the compound do either.

I have answered my own question; voice control (only) along with DAB is now an option but of course no-one actually got around to telling me that or any other details of the new  Bolero spec or asking if I wanted them as they had changed the spec.

Sounds as if you suffered like my wife, with the substitute Bolero, without notice. As she is out all day I haven't had a chance to explore all the bits yet, but I'll have a look sometime.

I recently ordered a Yeti Elegance with the new Bolero. My understanding is that voice control is only available with the Amundsen which has it as standard along with a DAB radio.

Does anyone actually like voice actuation, I think it would frustrate me instead.

I have just ordered a new Yeti with the Bolero and have added DAB do not know about the voice control. Have not got a build week yet so I will check with dealer.

It most certainly is an option on the Bolero, although goodness knows why they feel the need to charge £20 extra for it as it probably costs more in admin. It also comes with Mirror-link on the menu but no way to enable it in UK that I have seen - not that I want to.

If anyone had bothered to ask I would have added it and possibly DAB

Our other cars are Fords where it is std on most. I used it a lot with phone as none of my phones do voice dial. My wife also uses hers for radio and CD but for me it is switch radio on or off and that can be done without looking!

So I guess we need our teeth with us? :-))))

I can't see Voice Control as an option in the 11/2014 brochure. It is a £20 option in the online configurator, but only in conjunction with the Amundsen at £500 and the DAB Radio at £135 - hence the Amundsen brochure price of £655.

Totally agree on the brochure and the configurator and my experience this week is that neither dealers nor Skoda UK seem to know what will turn up in your car.

This is a new Bolero, note bottom button left of screen

and this is the section in the manual

Apologies for format posted from tablet

Voice control is a waste of time - don't bother about it.

I have decided not tell my friend Siri that you said that...

Mine is Amundsen but cars turning up without it set me wondering as the salesman said he did not need to add the DAB at £135 and Voice Control at £20 that I printed out from the car configurator (and it still shows there).

But when speaking to the lady that updates me to the build date (January week 3  ) I asked her about it. She called back a few minutes later and said my car shows both :whew: .

I think voice control is very handy on the radio and essential on sat-nav if re-routing is needed for a blocked road.

Did you pay the 11/14 Yeti brochure price of £655 for the Amundsen? If so, then DAB and Voice are included. The 08/14 brochure has the Amundsen with DAB at £635, but wihout Voice.

Charged the basic £535 when I ordered just under 2 weeks ago, thats why I made sure they checked it today and they confirmed DAB and Voice.
It could be because it was a Carwow discounted purchase.

Lucky you. :)
