Locking Wheel Bolts - Again!

Featured Replies

Just received my new set of locking wheel nuts supplied by Bickerton Skoda only to find that they're labelled Roomster bolts!!!  There's no documentation with them to suggest that Yeti and Roomster bolts are interchangeable so I'm relying on the collective wisdom of this forum to advise.

Tried to ring Bickerton just now but the parts department all go home early it seems (no surpass there then!)

If they are M14x 1.5pitch and 27.5mm long they are correct for Yeti.

They'll be fine - they're pretty much the same across the whole VAG range.  Just take out one of your regular non-locking bolts and compare the taper of the bolt head and the thread if you're unsure.

Bolts is bolts. All VAG bolts are the same with a radius seat.

Cheers guys.  Pretty much what I thought although it's reassuring to have it confirmed.

Between business appointments today I dropped into a Skoda dealer in Darlington (very friendly) and they took 10 mins to remove old locking bolts and replace with standard bolts ( £17.00).  Now back home so hopefully I'll be able to switch over to winter wheels and tyres tomorrow just in time for the forecasted "heavy" snow expected for the North Pennines - phew!

I'm going to replace the locking nuts on the Fabia too.  Never had a problem on my old 4x4 Octy 1.8T locking nuts, but if I remember the locking nuts were sturdy splines and not these ridiculous flowery patterns that seem to be proving problematic.
