Can it be done DIY, or do I need to go back to Mapper. Also how much would it cost approx.?

I want car to be back to standard when I sell it.

Depending who mapped it. May be an idea to go back to mappers who done it

if cab be done yourself for 20/30 quid. But its allot of hassle getting the kit and always the risk of locking up your ECU and its not fun as ive done it myself. Also the effort of finding the standard map from the Internet

How does that work mapping remotely, do I need to buy some special cable/software then? My laptop is broken at the moment and I can't even run simple logs from VCDS lite. Prefer to have someone come to me the do the mapping but he's in Liverpool (I think?!). Anyone know a local guy - local to Oxfordshire. Like I said prefer someone to come to me if possible. Happy to pay the going rate £.

You can buy cloned tools of eBay for less than £20. Read your map and send it to me and I'll send you an original back. You can buy a genuine alientech powergate s for £200.

Always a risk of bricking the ecu if battery fails half way through. But these ecu's are really old now so clone tools like mpps and kwp2000 can recover these.

Mate I wish you lived nearer, I'd be round in a flash (pun intended) and gladly pay you £200 to sort out my car, its really p*ssing me off. Not been right for over a year, and the worst thing is it seems fine one day and then runs like a bag o' ****e the next.
