Why won't my car run smoothly :(

Featured Replies

It's really bugging me now, and I don't know what the issue is.

Every VRS I've been in and driven, the engine noise has been silky smooth. Where as mine just sounds harsh when it's revved.

I am starting to think maybe it's because the PD100 has a SMF but it even sounds harsh when the clutch is engaged when im driving it in comparison to a Vrs.

It's been meticulously looked after, always serviced on time with the correct oil, and it's fairly low mileage with 80k.

What could it be that makes it soooo different from a VRS?

Wished you'd have said something yesterday mate as we could all had a listen. Richard has had enough of them and Taylor worked on quite a few they could've come up with some bright ideas... I would've just guessed. :D Hope you get it sorted to your liking my friend!

It hadn't corssed my mind, but I certainly should have. I hadn't been in another VRS for a while until last night when I went and picked up my friends new one with him (bought off here)

Making me sad, everyone else's car running better than mine but I don't know the problem! :(

I had my VCDS with me yesterday too... :(

I don't think there's a fault, but the certsinly could be. The engine just sounds harsh, as aposed to silky smooth. It's really hard for me to describe.

At our next workshop meet, you can take it for a spin and see what you think :)

Good thinking, sounds like a plan.

No I havent.

Gfwc your not to far from me are you?

Could meet up one day mines a pd100

Mine can sound quite "harsh" when it cold but it's derv so oh well lol, mines got 98k on it, the mrs pd 100 golf has 83k and my mums fabia pd100 has 70k and they all sound the same

My cusions ibiza 130 fr is has 150k and sounds a little more noisy than mine

Noticed quite a bit of difference noise wise last time I serviced it, got a bit OCD and did it twice in 6k and it will be getting another soon lol

It sounds the same as my other PD100 I had .... Crap.

However every VRS I've been in and driven is silky smooth when revved either sat still or driving.

They have the same engine, so I don't get it :(

I'll service it and see what happens.
