Gtechniq G5 okay to apply to headlights?

Featured Replies

How did you prepare the glass before you applied it?

Washed as part of the washing process and then glass cleaner followed by AG Glass Polish.

It's possible that some polish residue was left behind causing the G5 not to bond to the screen. If possible use some IPA to wipe down after the polish & before applying the G5. Leave the G5 on for about 10/15 mins. Then use a paper towel or kitchen towel to remove. I find that this tends to remove most of the G5, but not all. A final buff with a glass cloth or microfibre will sort the rest out.

There may have been a clash with the Polish (Oils etc..)

Use some IPA or similar, to wipe down after the Glass Polish, before you apply the G5 and it should be fine

Dry weather or indoors is essential too...Make sure its hazed before you buff off with a MF cloth.
