The original battery on my May 2011 Yeti 2.0 140 DSG has now let me down several times in cold weather. So, after several jump starts, I decided it was time to replace it with something more robust. I ordered a Bosch S5 Type 096 from Amazon at £88.87 (supplied by EuroCarParts) with free UPS delivery. It arrived within two days, excellent service. On the last occasion that I had a battery replaced (on a VW Touran) the car lost all its settings and the alarm went off as the old battery was disconnected. Worse still, the tailgate lock kept springing open whilst I was driving and a replacement cost over £200. Wishing to avoid a repetition, I also ordered a Draper Socket Memory Saver. This device enables you to feed current to the car form a 'slave' battery whilst chaging batteries so there is no interruption to the supply. I connected the Memory Saver to the terminals on the battery in my wife's Micra and plugged it into the 12v socket in the Yeti before disconnecting the old battery and installing the new one. Nothing could have been easier. No settings lost at all, everything works as normal. I certainly recommend using this type of gadget for peace of mind when replacing batteries. The cost - £10.86 again, from Amazon. Alternative memory savers use a 9v battery; the type fitted in smoke alarms, but it is recommended to use a new 9v battery with each use of the device.

I could have done with one of those gadgets yesterday when my Fabia's battery was replaced. I have ordered one from Amazon and that is an excellent price.

I replaced the battery twice, never had problems with windows, only some check lights blinking on dashboard that went off after moving the vehicle for 40 meters at low speed. Very easy operation, not troubles with it.

I have the sunroof and it worked good after the battery change, no resetting needed.
