Passenger Nirvana!!!!

Featured Replies

Bear with me on this, it gets better as we go along!!.

I have recently changed my job and I now work for an Italian company which is based close to Milan. Unfortunately ;) I had to travel there this week to be introduced to the people I would be dealing with and have a look around the place. Nothing to write home about yet, but as I was being shown around I spotted the below tucked in a corner of the factory car park. For all you petrol heads out there this ain't no ordinary Ferrari 360, this is the stripped out carbon fibred, super quick "Challenge Stradalle". I asked who's it was and it turned out to be one of the joint owners of my new firm. As I stood there drooling I was asked if I would like to have a ride in it..................................like I am going to turn that offer down  not. Having bit his hand off at the chance I realised that the person showing me around was the son of the owner and that he would be more than happy to tell his father there was a dopey twonk from the UK had been licking his car and could he have a ride!!.

Later that afternoon a silver haired distinguished gentleman walked into a rather boring seminar I was having to endure and asked which of us had asked for a run out in the Ferrari, before anyone else had managed to turn around I was waiting at the door. Now for the best bit!!!.

I had heard the car start up from inside the building, that unmistakeable burble from the V8. Having wedged my fat asre into the super tight seats, I noticed how minimalistic the interior was, no carpets, no electric windows, no air con etc..etc. The first few miles were quite sedate as we discussed the car then as we turned onto a main road he floored it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we shot up the road at an incredible rate of nots with that wonderful engine behind it made me feel young again. I thought that being of the older generation he wouldn't know or want to give it a good work out, how wrong and happy I am to report that this guy is a total "barnpot"!!!!!. We carried on a little further and turned on to his "favorite road" then stopped :( . This was so that he could show me what the LRC & Race buttons did :D . After hitting these two buttons he held his foot on the brake and revved the engine to 7000rpm and released :D:D:D .................All senses that you have ever experienced cannot describe the sensation at that moment, my bodily organs were crushed by the weight of my shirt and tie!!, the engined screamed as we accelerated through the gears which incidently had quickened up thanks to the race setting. It is a sensation I wish you could all experience and should you be as lucky as I have been do not hesitate to do it, believe me I am contemplating selling my House to get one of these :D:D:D:D .

wish i had a house to sell to buy one. might just sell my parents and my grandparents and great granparents instead :S lol

Well, it did sound like the bloke was getting on a bit. :D Maybe thats why he got such a loud car, so he could still hear it. ;)

yes it is me, and yes I was smoking at the time although I wouldn't stub it out on his car, that would be criminal :) , well spotted though.

and then I woke up!

only joking, sounds like trip to remember

That's one nice car man, congrats on your free ride:)

I've had the pleasure of being given around in a 611 bhp Porsche Carrera 911 Gemballa...does that count as being close enough?

Hmmm, this is depressing. I have never been in a supercar before... :finger:

Bet it was a ride to remember. Car looks the danglies mate... Nice one!

So, do you think your going to like your new job :D

Makefish

I had the privilege of being driven round Silverstone for 15 laps in a race-prepared 360 on a Ferrari day.

Considering the mixture of very fast cars on the track, 'we' just picked them off one by one, with cars eventually moving out of the way. With the F1 gearbox and terrific brakes its the ONLY car I've started to feel ill in. Relentless!!!
