Sky+/Sky issues

Featured Replies

I have Sky+ (Amstrad version) which i've been pretty happy with and did a DIY upgrade to 160 Gb a few months back.

I noticed that over the last few weeks it would crash occasionally if i pressed FF just after starting playback of a recording.

Problem went away about a week ago when I noticed the EPG background had also changed slightly. Looks like Sky have updated the software in my receiver but now the digibox is slower to react to remote control button presses and it's really irritating.

You also can't hold down the up/dn arrows and scroll through listings/recordings like before and have to use the ch up/dn button to skip a page at a time instead.

Finally the function whereby holding down rewind for a couple of seconds would skip back to the start of a recording has been removed.

Anyone noticed this and what can be done. My Operating Sys Version is now 1.31AOE and my EPG Software Version is sky+1.30.q.

noticed the exactly the same thing, you press a button and it takes a few seconds to react now

After looking at the digital spy posts i'm now counting myself lucky. Sounds like this update is causing havoc with the Pace boxes

I've got a Pace box but it seems ok with the new software.

Only problem I've had is it now asks for a PIN when trying to copy stuff and it wouldn't accept my PIN.

Call to Sky and it's now sorted.

Cheers

Lee

The Amstrad boxes are crap - mine constantly fails to record stuff which Sky acknowledge as a problem but isn't fixed in the latest software and they are 'working on it' :(

I can't say I really have any problems with playback and recording on my Amstrad Sky+ box and certainly not the known problems listed on digital spy.

It failed on recording a couple of times on BBC3 but the problem seemed to rectify itself.

Had a few probs when I upgraded the HDD but turned out to be my fault. There must be good and bad batches of these boxes. Mine was installed January this year.

I have an Amstrad SKY+ box with a 160GB HDD and i has never been a problem, had it for over 6 months now and it's been fine and it's ok with the new EPG software too

I must be one of the lucky ones
