Fabia vrs se mk1 brakes upgrade and se battery cover

Featured Replies

Hi all, fabia just been serviced and motd and new front Kumho boots sorted. With a Pipercross induction kit and a nice re map to 190bhp, would like to know if anyone has tried Octavia vrs brakes as a larger replacement for front and rears.

If anyone has is there any other parts like maybe carriers that require changing???

Also has anyone found a battery cover ( in carbon fibre??)

About a million people have done the brakes, very common upgrade, usually involves..

Brake disc

Brake pads

Brake caliper

Brake carrier

Some change the flexihose because of the slightly longer stretch but imo the normal one is fine.

Same with the rears but no need to change the brake pipe. The bigger rear brakes 256mm I think use the same brake pads as the standard rear as well.

Never seen anyone do much with the battery cover other than fit the prefacift cover on the facelift model.

Octavia front and rear brakes do go on a Mk1 Fabia mate, just make sure you get the carriers.

Remap to 190? Your mapper is telling porkie pies.

Hutchy's has given a good list for upgrades.

Typically you can get the caliper and carriers from a mk1 octavia Vrs, or mk4 golf

my m8's ibiza was mapped to 202bhp with print out turbo lasted just under a year

I'm assuming the Cupra? If so has a different turbo to the Fabia so irrelevant, but it reiterates my point 190 is not safely achievable on a standard turbo

Got a dyno print out at 187.2bhp, why would he lie when I didn't ask? Doesn't matter anyway, new bhp totally shows up standard suspension and brakes set up.

People with hybrids get a real remap to 190bhp.

People with a stock car get a push at 170bhp.

As said the Ibiza would need to be a cupra with a fmic and other extras to give it the edge, even over 200bhp on a standard pd150 turbo is high.

Doesn't matter in real world anyway, don't drive like a tool all the time, also would buy another tricked impreza if I wanted to talk bhp!!!! The original questions were regarding suspension and brakes and think I have sensible answers to both so thanks.
