Some pics of my Sport.

You all know what they look like but in some ways it's more for reference (for others and me) for how it looks before and after.

Still chuffed with it however, the fuel consumption can be fairly questionable if sat at 80-odd compared to even 70mph and town work seems to destroy it too - be lucky to get 350 miles from this tank i reckon.

Also having some 'issues' which both dealer and SUK are looking in to for me - more details once resolved.

Anyway, here you go -

The rapid looks so good in white. It's a shame that my parents wanted theirs in black. Also nice but I prefer the white version. By the way, it's so strange to see the steering wheel on the right!! I'm Portuguese so I'm only used to right-hand traffic cars.

Good luck with your Rapid!!

Very nice Turboman [emoji106]

It is great looking in White [emoji4]

What issues are you having at the moment?

Many a varied, some to do with the car and some the service that I was in receipt of. I'll let you know asap - should benefit us all in the short term.

Looks sweet and have to agree... white is right!

Glad to see someone else with manual air-con... I was beginning to think I was the only person on the planet without climate control!

I got manual AC too [emoji106][emoji4]

So have I. After coming from two previous cars with auto I'm finding it easier to operate for some reason and it reminds me a bit of the big cooker knobs that my old 126 had

Good seat colour choice for white!

It's so beautiful - it must be "Roger Rapid's" twin! ;)

I have had mine since June and it still makes me smile every day!   I love it!   Just clicked over to 10,000 miles, but the holiday to the South of France bumped it up nicely and dented my wallet nicely!

Manual A/C here as well thankfully; find climatronic systems annoying, particularly in the summer when you start up and the fan cuts in at max chat initially blowing warm air at you.

To be fair, I am getting between 43 and 45 average mpg - some motorway and some rural road work on my daily work run to/ from Heathrow Airport.   As I work shifts, I am hardly ever in heavy traffic although getting stuck behind Captain Slow's who won't let you get into 5th or 6th gears can be a problem - you can almost hear the petrol gurgling through the tubes!   Your consumption figure drops alarmingly if you kick her down to overtake and let the turbocharger strut its stuff!

The fuel consumption is about on par with what I expected, taking into consideration that the Rapid (VW Jetta or Seat Toledo) is probably the biggest and most soiid car to run with a 1.2 engine.

I certainly feel safe in "Roger Rapid" and VAG's safety design team.   This VW Golf is a testament to the strength of the German car's body cage!

The Jetta and Golf are based on an a entirely different platform, the Golf being on the latest MQB platform and I'm sure the Yeti would be the heaviest to get the 1.2tsi. :)

Forgot about the Yeti!   I stand corrected concerning the MQB platform, however the body cage strengths are inherent throughout the VAG range.
