Will rear spacers work on my octy vrs?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, got set of 10mm spacers looking to fit them to my octy vrs but not sure if they would work.. the cars on standard 17"s and running standard 205/50/17 tyres and its lowered roughly 30 - 35mm

will the tyres catch on the arches or anything like that?

Cheers

Best thing to do is just fit them and take it for a run. 10mm spacers should be ok but you will need longer wheel bolts for sure.

Yeah standard thread length is 28mm so add your 10mm on. I went 5mm front and 8mm rear with 30 and 35mm bolts respectively. I'm on standard shocks at the moment. They filled arches nicely though, as luck would have it the edge of the tyre is exactly in line with the mudflaps both ends. I don't think yours will rub with stiffer than standard shocks, but as said, bit of trial and error, especially with your ride height. Should look good though. I noticed a slight reduction in body roll too, but I have no rarb yet.

Oh and also when I fitted mine, they were hubcentric but its still a bit of a handful, I was a bit disconcerted by how much tightening it took to push them on and get the wheel seated. So I did them as tight as possible then took a short drive to my local tyre place and got them to go round and check and retorque each bolt. It turned out they would have been fine but I now know they're evenly torqued, properly seated and not over tightened, bit of peace of mind more than anything.

no problem fitting 10mm spacers on std VRS wheel and lowered, but does depend on also how much weight you have at the rear.

I have 12mm on front and 8mm on rear with spiders and probably over 40mm lowered.
