can anyone help

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a tow bar complete with a bog standard 12n socket with a generous lead on the end. I have tried to trace the rear light wiring to find a suitable point to connect to but as yet no luck. What i am looking for is the connection where the common rear lights wiring break up to supply either side.

Would appreciate any help

What age is the Fabia?

With CAN based wiring for the lights you can't just tap into the wiring.

Hi Tech1e.

Its a 2008 fabia, 1.4 3 cyl diesel. I have identified the wiring to each rear light cluster, but I think there must be a connection somewhere before the wiring loom splits to run down each side of the car. I could splice into one side of the lights, bring wiring over from the other side where required (Indicator). but a bit concerned with increasing the load on the already thin wire.

As I have said its a CAN lighting system, I think at the very least you need a CAN bypass relay or you are going to store no end of faults, but the relays are shaky at best in my experience.
