i dont get it why does the petrol from full take forever to get to the half tank mark...then from the half tank mark to red it disapeers really really quickly..makeing me think thats a really thirsty 1.4! stupid car:( lol :P

I think it's the same on the diesel, some said its to do with the shape of the tank maybe? But hey what do I know I'm just a chicken

but from red...when it beeps how many miles are there? is there an emergency tank?

Yes it beeps at you, then the engine coughs.

Most tanks are slighlty triangluar if you like in shape, that is the half way point is not half way, of if you like, at half it's time to think about filling up, grabbing a coffee.

My 2p anyway.

Then I gave up thinking about it and just accepted it as one more cross to bear.

Depends on your MPG. As the link said they have about 2 gallons left when the light comes on.

So in a petrol thats probably 30-60 miles. But if you run out dont blame me

My 1.4 has a 45 litre tank, and the manual says it beeps at 7.5 litres left.
