Fabia tdi cold issues

Featured Replies

My fabia has started playing up the last 4-5wks on a morning it will start 1st turn of the key, but sound's like it's running on 3 cylinder's! and has plenty of white smoke (unburnt diesel) as it stinks of it.

once i rev it all 4 cylinders are running but when it drops back to idle it returns to being lumpy

The car will also white smoke when driving until im up to 90 on the temperature gauge then the car runs, drives, and starts as it should. with not 1 bit of smoke

the car is a 55 plate ASZ and its only just turned 90k with a fsh and up until 81k its a fssh

The car doesn't use any water or oil and its not down on power either

anyone had anything similar happen to their car  ?

It is overfueling for some reason, faulty temperature sender, maf sensor, faulty injector or wiring loom to injectors. It would benifit from a scan with VCDS to find out whats going on.

What do you think of the Jimmny by the way, thinking of buying a new one to replace my Roomster.

ive replaced the maf and wouldn't of thought the injectors would of been an issue at 90k

ive got a fault code reader than brings up no fault codes

the car is perfect once upto 90 on the temperature its got me baffled...

The jimny is great offroad ive had discoverys and pajero's and the jimny will go loads of places they wouldn't

the only issue with jimny;s offroad is bottoming out once you go with big tyres the gearbox is pretty useless then it gets expensive buying a rocklobster box to cope offroad

It would be very beneficial to have a proper look at whats going on with vcds, for your car you can get vcds lite free from ross tech and a cable from Gendan for £20 which will give you a lot more info than a fault code reader. Wiring looms to injectors have been known to fail as they run in a very harsh environment.

Try diconnecting the maf sensor and see if things improve.
