This may seem like a silly question, but to be honest I've never heard of these before and was wondering if you could explain what the benefit of these really are? Is it not just a bit of a gimmick? Or is it meant to help cool the inlet temperatures down or something?

Not going to do much for you on a standard twincharger.

Better Tyres if needed.

Rear ARB if you want.

Lowering springs if you want and the are not already on the car.

Better Brake pads if pads are near needing changing,

& better performance Brake fluid.

Scooby's have them

+1

Its not a silly question

Its a new one on me too

Does it spray water onto the intercooler to keep the outside cooler? Im stabbing in the dark here haha

Fairly sure that's what happens

It sprays water on to the intercooler which then removes heat as it evaporates.

Scooby STIs have them as standard.

DIY:

To be fair they were just being daft with it, but shows the principle. You could DIY it properly as mentioned with a wiper bottle pump or similar.

Thats interestin.

Will that tank last long then? Looks like its gonna last about 2 minutes? Aha

Long enough if flow rate is set correctly

Lower the flow rate, the less effective itll be? Id of thought?

Depends as you could go beyond the point of it doing anything and then just wastage, I.e. 1l tank, 200ml gets the IC down to a temp of 5 degrees which is the same temp as the water however the water keeps on putting water in which doesn't change the temperature it is then wastage.

Depends how often then i guess.

200ml an hour would only last 5 hours... Haha.

But i guess itll only do it when the temp reaches a certain amount? It wont just fire all the time?

Is it a water meth kit?

Your better of wrapping the down pipe and the intercooler pipe that runs across the downpipe. Which heats the charge back up.

I can't see that mod doing anything at all tbh but would be interested to see a before and after dyno graph.

As George said - RARB, springs, brakes, tyres are the way to go.

Fair enough for giving it ago what ever it is. If it was a proven mod it would probably be more widely reknown, but if it produces some sort of result for small amount of money then why not.

But IMO, money is probably better spent elsewhere.
