Reverse sensors issue

Featured Replies

Hello guys!

I have bought a Octy 2 4x4 estate with factory fitted reverse sensors. I put in reverse, nothing comes on radio display, no beeping sound. Sensors are making the clicking noise, so they are fine. When I put in neutral from reverse I get a glimpse of the car shape on the radio. I am suspecting a bad conection somewhere. Can anyone point me where to check?

Cheers

Do your reverse lights come on?

Reverse lights are working

A scan with VCDS will probably help. It could either be a wiring problem or the PDC controller.

Agreed.  Its a bit of a guess otherwise, but when I had a wiring problem it was a breaking wire to the reverse switch under the airbox although that took out the reverse lights too. The other common issue is water ingress to the PDC controller which often happens when the rear washer pipe pops off (if your rear washer isn't working that may be a clue).

Check that all 4 sensors click, if so then I'm of the impression that the beeper in the passenger B pillar is faulty hence no beep/display.
