Octy2 Programming

Featured Replies

What functions can you enable/disable by programming (via the dealer of course) on the new Octy e.g. one press locking/unlocking of all doors etc etc.

Does anyone know the full list of options?

My query is aimed at there being no light on the dash to show when cruise control is switched on. However if you catch the instrument binnacle in the sunlight you can see the symbol there (same as on vw passats / golfs etc).

Do you have maxidot or Light Assistant? With maxidot you can control the delay time for coming home/leaving home lights and switch off/on the 3 flash lane changing function on the indicators. I think if you don't have maxidot, the dealer can change these settings for you.

You can have the dealer set the central locking to:-

1.Open driver's door on first remote push and other doors on second push

2.Autolock - Doors lock automatically once car is travelling at 7kph

The dealer can also set the headlights for daytime running so they are on any time the engine runs. I think that's about it.

Anybody know whether my OBD-II connector and VAG-COM will work on the Octy2?

I have programmed the Golf to chirp when the alarm is set and also to autolock above 5mph. Would like to do the same on the Octy.

hmmmm id love my car to chirp when i set the alarm too! so im interested in this too

I'm not worried about the alarm chirp although my dealer could probably turn it in. Thieves know what to expect with regard to alarms etc on modern cars. A chirp just says "Notice to all car theives in the vicinity, I've just parked my nice new car here, cheers". It also ****es off the nieghbours.

I think you need the very latest version of VAG-COM to set up some of these functions yourself like autolocking. Lummox should keep you right.

The chirp in fact is not very loud at all, for me it just means that if I'm not looking at the car when I look it I get an audible alert that it's locked. It's certainly not to the sound level of what the clifford alarms in there day were like, now that would have pee'd off the neighbours! (Have to admit to having one though!) ;)

If it's the same as the chirp from my bosses new A6, I can hear it from the 3rd floor of our offices with heavy traffic outside.

H,mmm....perhaps I can get mine to sing grand opera when the Nova headbangers drive past.

No it will not work as most of the car uses CAN bus which a lot of connectors do not support so you will need to upgrade through Ross-tech.

You cannot set the alarm to chirp as that has been disabled because it is annoying at 3am (I liked it though) The 5mph auto lock and alarm tone change still work though.

Certainly not the same as that. Anyway, each to their own, I like it! ;)

Bugger, seems hardly worth upgrading to CAN-BUS for just the few odd things to play with. Will get the dealer to program what I want before delivery.

Cheers for the help.
