Columbus "Wrong data format" issue

Featured Replies

Hi guys, a Happy New Year to you all, I wonder if anyone can help?

Picked up my new Superb yesterday [lovely!] but I'm having an issue with the Columbus unit.

I'd put a load of music on a 16Gb FAT 32 formatted SD card, all mp3 files [converted from AACs generally] and saved in a structure Artist/Album/File.

Now when I insert the card the Columbus reads the card and I can navigate the folder structure without difficulty. However, when I press play I get the message "Wrong data format, unable to read file". What's really weird though is that the unit then appears to scan the folder and then play the file.

It looks like my mp3s are ok, but what's going on? I can't be putting up with an error message each time I want to play a track.

Any bright ideas?

Cheers,

Ben

Just tried some originally ripped mp3s rather than converted AACs and they play without a hitch.

Looks like it might be an issue with the AAC to mp3 conversion in iTunes, anyone else had an issue?

Used another piece of software to convert my AAC files to mp3 and all is well. Dunno why there was a problem with the iTunes converted files though?
