Fault with intake flap motor?

Featured Replies

HI all recently changed my dash so just done a precautionary scan as my airbag light was on, thankfully no faults from my work, but i have one fault code from engine that will not clear.

Fault is  P3102 Intake flap motor no signal, ive checked ross tech wiki which states to check fuse, wiring and then finally the actual motor,

Wouldnt a component such as this affect the general running of the engine? as my engine runs perfect

also has anyone else had this or has anyone any tips on resolving it other than what rosstech suggest?

engine is 2.0pd bkd

Common fault mate. I've had two BKD engined cars and they've both failed at about 100k miles. Part will cost about £170, and it's an easy DIY fix of about half an hour or so if you have a set of allen keys and nimble fingers. Part number is 038128063M. Make sure you don't buy a second hand unit (might just be as faulty as yours) and make sure it's the M letter at the end. There might be a later revision (like an N letter) but my ETKA is down at the moment and I can't check for you.

As regards engine running, the parts main function is to close the flap in the air intake to stall the engine when you turn the key off, so this won't affect the running of the engine. Secondary function is to part close when the egr is called in to use by the ECU, and this causes a vacuum in the inlet manifold which draws the exhaust gas through the egr.

Hi ive skoda octavia mk2 2005 1.9tdi 105bhp.yesterday engine management light came up and when i scanned with vcds 14.10. The error code came up p1301. I cleared the code but it came back after 8 hours drive. I also checked motor flap which is closing and opening. The light on dashboard one comes when flap stuck then i ve to remove code and flap start working ok for few hours and stuck again. I tried to do its alignment but vcds not opening its madule 060 or 098 in engine basic setting. All fuse are ok. No visible wire prob. Any help why flap is keep stucking after frew hours and how to alignment throttle body by vcds 14.1?
