looking to buy octavia any advice

Featured Replies

Hi looking to buy 2.0tdi 2006 octavia sport. Is there anything i should be looking for? any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Uneven wear/feathering of rear tyres, check fronts, they do get swapped around!

Injector recall.

DPF.

Unusual engine/turbo sounds.

Service history.

Rear screen washer operation/water/screen wash in spare wheel well.

Wind noise from rear door/window seals.

Suspension noises.

Sill/floor damage from jacking.

Parking sensors.

Air con.

Rusty top of fuel filter housing.

Mayo on engine oil filler cap/oil level on dipstick.

Correct engine oil used in services.

That's all I can think of offhand, just the usual stuff to watch for really, take a non biased mechanically minded friend along when viewing to have a good poke around while you ask questions.

Good luck.

The Sport version used the 2.0 BKD engine which won't have a DPF or be subject to the injector recall, so that's two less things to worry about.
