Just wanted to know how to tell if my brake discs are worn out? The surface is smooth, but has a small lip running around the edge, is that normal?

small lip sounds normal, there will be a min thk. check back surface for corrosion, the front disks on mine looked perfect until I checked the back, it will be obvious.
