misfire on cold start ?

Featured Replies

Happy New Year All ....

maybe you can help me. ....

I have an mk1 Octavia 1.8t vrs and it has a misfire on cold start but go's away once warm .

I have changed the MAF ,cooloant temp sensor and still it is there ,you have to feed the throttle in slowly so that it does not die .

rather than keep chucking money at it ,has anybody got an idea what it could be .

Spark plug beginning to break down perhaps?

Gaz

Topic moved to octavia section.

mine sometimes does similar if very cold

no scan?

NOTHING COMES UP AT ALL NO FAULTS?

Is this by anychance just when the secondary air pump is running? Mine did this when std then when i got it mapped it never did it again. A friend of mines does the same.

Yeah lol

As said i dont know the exact problem but its definitely a mapping one. A lad i know had it with his polo gti 1.8t and when he took it to rtech to get mapped they also said they would sort it with the map.

Any other symptoms?

White smoke, blue smoke, oil in the water, gunge on the oil filler cap, the list goes on.

I'd go for the common problems, plug break down or coil pack failing.

none of the above for mine at all not a fault code or split pipe insight
