Major service

Featured Replies

I have got a major service coming up for my 1.4tsi octavia thinking of taking to D M Keith does anybody have any feedback about there servicing, good or bad?

I've used dm Keith hull for the last 2 services (minor & major) & cannot fault them.. Was even more impressed when they updated the firmware bolero head unit at no extra cost

See here for dealer reviews from fellow members:

My experiences with DM Keith in York have been pretty poor, to the point I'll no longer use them but I'm hoping it was a one off.

When you price up the service make sure you do your homework as there are significant savings to be made.

Skoda do two services, a minor at £139 and a major at £259...

There is however little difference between the two, certainly not enough to justify the extra £120 for the major service.

This is only made worse when the extra parts fitted on the major service are only fitted "if required" which on most models is at around 60,000 miles or 3 years, whuchever is reached first. These extra parts include the spark plugs, air, fuel and pollen filters.

You mention you are 'due a major service'. My advice would be to check the service book or enquire with the dealer to:

1) Work out what needs replacing, and...

2) What the dealer will actually say that they will replace.

There are too many people paying £259 for a major service and only getting a £139 'oil and filter' minor service.
