BLT turbo on an ASZ engine - egr valve

Featured Replies

Thinking of changing my turbo but it's from a newer BLT engine. From what I've read the egr valve is slightly different...

Would a blt turbo fit my ASZ engine if I have the hose to go with it from the BLT from turbo to egr.

I've got a feeling the hole in the manifold for the egr pipe on the KKK turbos is not in the same place as what it is on the garrett turbos. Someone will be along to confirm I'm sure. And then you have the fact that the egr setup is different with the blt having seperate egr and anti shudder valve and the asz having it all in one unit. I think this puts the egr valve inlet from the exhaust in significantly different places on both engines.

From what I have read I personally would stick with garrett turbos on the asz. The KKK turbos on the BLT engines seem a bit hit and miss in terms of quality/reliability.

BLT EGR runs a cooler too,not just a pipe between manifold and EGR valve.

How could I forget that great big hulking heat exchanger stuffed down the back of the engine! Lol
