oh yes some questions.what oil is recommended .is it true that the power chips you can buy can cause the engine to be damaged?how do you tell if it is a pd engine?cheers

You probably haven't had time to browse yet, but there is some good Sticky information and a few threads on oil (IIRC), so the answers you seek might well be on here already.

If you click on "Search" on the black horizontal menu bar, it will give you an advanced search option from which you can select as many or as few options as you like, before hitting the enter keyboard key (or screen "Search now" mouse option).

If you can't find what you're looking for, just post directly into the relevant forum Many helpful people on here

Hi and welcome. Details of your car's engine are on the sticker inside the front cover of the Service Schedule (service record booklet) and on a similar sticker on the boot floor under the carpet. For example, mine is 110KW ARX - which decodes as the 150bhp 1.8T engine fitted to the Octavia 4X4. Post your details and someone will tell you which engine it is.
