Creaking drivers seat

Featured Replies

As the title states we have a 2014 monte carlo tdi and just before crimbo it went in for it's first service just a little background cars done 10,400miles and since we've had it back it's developed a creaking drivers seat my question is do they for any reason remove the drivers seat during the service only ask as it didn't have this problem before the service......anyone else have a creaking drivers seat..????

They may have lowered the seat completely for some reason. Mine creaks when it's dropped to its lowest. Try adjusting the heigh up slightly.

Mine creaks too.

Quite alot of them do it seems. Theres another thread on this

Loose some weight ! ;)

Mine creaks ever so slightly (over 105kg of lard) but it does not bother me really. As aholloway21 wrote, try adjusting a little bit and see if it still creaks. They might have greased the runners (not sure if this is a standard procedure) which prompted it to move more freely and creak?

Im 12 stone and it still creaks ;) haha.

Make sure it's not your seatbelt buckle.  Mine started to creak when I changed the height of my seat.

The creaking is the friction between the "wires" running into the bottom of the buckle rubbing together & against the plastic buckle housing.  Fixed it by setting my seat higher!

Alternatively just crank up the music a tad :)

It's not a creak ...If you listen really carefully ..it's saying ...help!

I tried this earlier on before I read ur post and there seems to be some truth in this as on the lowest position the seat belt section attached to the floor does sit very close if not touching when the seat is in it's lowest setting so I have raised it a little and all seems quiet so far but I will monitor it, even after it comes back from the dealership as the mrs wants it checked out.....

Please could you let us know how you get on at the dealers

Be interesting to see if you get anywhere with it (:

Have you got heated seat's? I know that there is a heated seat recall on some Fabia's. This involves stripping the seat base cover partially to check the part number of the seat. ?
