Hi there, I have a 2005 Octavia estate and i was wondering if anyone knew if the newer radio units that have bluetooth, gps etc will fit?

Search for Columbus, loads of threads. Broadly yes but you may well need to upgrade the CAN gateway and you will lose the climate and pdc display on the radio.

Have a search for Columbus and Amundsen+. They are your options.

 

Pros and cons for each.

 

You may not need a CAN gateway upgrade in a 2007 car.

If its a double din type, then the Kenwood DNX 521 DAB will go in and gives you all the parking /heating controls.

Pretty expensive new but some second hand units turn up.

Yes but with similar issues above.

 

Battery drain (requiring updated CAN gateway)

No PDC

No climate display

No maxidot display (not possible on Amundsen with pre-fl cars)

Yep as above however if you just want a head unit that will work and looks the part for £200 you can't go wrong

Amundsen+ is only one with bluetooth and GPS. No another OEM head unit fot octy 2 contains GPS and BT functionality without externat devices.

But only certain ones have Bluetooth built in. Not all of them do.
