Headlight washer cover

Featured Replies

Happy New Year one and all.

The headlight washer cover on the drivers side has been pulled off on my car, I have the cover and it appears unbroken as does the washer unit, but I can't see how the two can join as they don't touch.  I guess therefore it either is broken or their is a piece missing.  Can anyone shed any light?  I've included pictures.

Regards

Tom

It just clips on but the washer inside is sprung so recoils further into the bumper without the cover attached.

You need to pull the washer mechanism then clip the cover back on.

Look carefully and you may well see broken tabs, they're very small.

Carefully pull the washer stalk straight out and jam a long thin screwdriver or similar in behind it so it cannot retract.

The clips broke on mine and they pinged out when I closed the bonnet so I just epoxied them back on the stalks.

Cost around a fiver.

Only come unpainted.

Thanks for the replies.

Didn't realise I had any, email must have decided to send everything junk - helpful!

I wondered if it might have retracted too far.  I'll go and have a butchers.

OK, just clipped it back on having pulled it out manually.

Tried to use an allan key to hold it out, which of course instantly span round and disappeared inside with a satisfying noise of landing somewhere inside never to be seen again!
