front suspension fitment

Featured Replies

My car went into the garage to have my knackered oil filled front suspension changed and I supplied 2 x gas front shocks which were a fit from car reg. When they came to fit them they didn't fit, after some phone chat they offered and ordered some to be fitted from their supplier these arrived and again they didn't fit. It turns out that the drop links on my car connect to the upper part of the suspension leg and the two pairs that came in that were listed for my car didn't have this fitment as part of them. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this and could you please point me in the direction of some compatible shocks.

Thank you

I'm presuming you have a vrs? That's correct for your car. The vrs uses the longer drop links that go from the strut to the anti roll bar. Its the same set up for all the sporty models in the vag group audi s3 cupra r etc are the same. The non vrs set up use a shorter link that goes from the wishbone. I'm certain there is part numbers for the vrs strut in the parts section at the top of the octavia section.

There you go, didnt know your cars year so used 03' model criteria :-

Sports suspension = Vrs setup

That is a great parts diagram.

Yes you need VRS specific dampers

As this is about front suspension I would ask anyone who may be knowledgeable about this area to look at my post on suspension mounts looking odd.

Apologies for breaking any rules on posting but I need the help.
