Bluetooth question

Featured Replies

I'm new here, so forgive me if this is something that's been asked before. I had a quick glance at the search but couldn't see anything.

I took ownership of a 1.4 TSI Elegance on Friday, and have been trying to connect an android phone. It wasn't advertised as having Bluetooth, but I thought I'd try connecting anyway.

First time, I could see what I assume was the car. It had Skoda in the title along with some other characters. No matter what I tried, my phone refused to connect. After a few tries, I could no longer see it. The wife also had a go, and the car showed up as a headset to her phone. Then, same problem with it disappearing.

There's a Bluetooth audio option in the media section, but no other reference that I can see. If I press the Phone button, it mutes the radio.

Is there some secret code I need to put in to get the two connected?

Cheers.

Look for a box under the drivers seat. Bluetooth is a separate option even though it shows up in the menu on the HU.

Thanks! I'll take a look asap.

The Bluetooth is only visible (if fitted) for 3 min after the ign is turned on. There is a pin. It is mentioned in the handbook. It was 0000 or 1234

However, on mine before the bt was fitted, the bolero just muted. After I had it fitted, pressing the phone button resulted in a message similar to "no phone connected"

I think bt was a factory fit only for dsg, but that could have been just for the vrs

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't see any box under the seat, but I'll try scanning again after turning the ignition.

That would probably be why I can't connect to it any longer, anyway.

Tried again this morning, but it still didn't appear. I'll try an iOS device next, but if I don't get any joy with that I'm officially flummoxed.

What does it say if you press the phone button on the bolero? Anything, or just mute the radio?
