Fitting a 1.4tdi engine in my 1.6D pick up

Bit odd! I got a 2000 pick up from a friend? cheep. put it in for a mot and it past i was going to sale it as is!! it has a 1.6d has a mis and starting to slip,, The same week it past the mot I got a 1.4tdi polo but the gearbox is no good  I would like to keep it the pick up ,, I am to old for speed!! so have no need for a 2.0 L 6 speed!! but it needs to be cheep to run and tax as I only do 30! miles a week.,work from home So i was thing would the tdi fit in,to save on a lot of work will the engine bolt up or can i make plate to fit the gearbox I can do the loom and ecu and make it plug and play! welding i'm ok at ,, the engine has been chip to 110hp so will the gearing be way out etc ,,,,
