PID issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

im having issue with my PID not charging, I gather from reading a few posts on here its a common issue, I tried to update it via the Garmin fresh thing, but now it just turns on and off with a message in white writing saying something about new vehicle, it doesn't stay on long enough to actually read what its saying.

When it did stay on for long enough to check it the outside temp gauge has now vanished as an option, only coolant temp and revs are available.

I don't think I go a specific book for the PID from the dealer only a fold out quick start guide which was of limited use, I assume there should have been a proper booklet / user guide?.

thanks,

Fit it to the vehicle then go for a drive.

It's not got enough power in it by the sounds of it, charges way better in the car, then you will see all the functions and settings once it's got some juice.

Just hooking up to the PC when discharged doesn't get enough in it very quickly.

There is a user guide as a pdf on these forums if you need it?

try cleaning the contacts and or re seat the stalk into the dashboard as well.

Contacts between PID & mount. Need clean? Sticking?

Do you have a USB charger in the house you can use to charge it? Preferably 1amp or greater.

thanks all, I left it plugged into the usb cable over night at it just keeps turning on and off now, it was working ok when plugged into the car, will try again now I've updated it. hopefully connecting it to the car will sort it out.

thanks for the telling me about the pdf, if there should have been a hard copy I will chase the dealer.

Didn't get a hard copy with wifes Mii. PDF is OK. It definitely charges much better in the car, takes forever via USB.
