activate auto door lock on MK1 Fabia?

Featured Replies

I heard that you can activate this function in Fabia MK2. I wonder if it is also possible to do it on MK1 ? and How? BTW: I will have the ODB2 reader soon. Do I use that thing to "activate/deactivate" this function?

Im not sure what active auto door locking is (sounds like its the door lock that comes on when i drive above 10mph) but if you want to make changes like that I'm 99% sure you'd need VCDS and not just an OBD2 reader.  VCDS lite may even do it, i know you can change the weight of your power steering with it.  I also changed my locks on mine so all doors open with 1 click of the button.

yes. that's exactly what i need. I also realize i need to have vcds kits to do it. However, the price looks not cheap. cost like 400 euro in The Netherlands. crazy.

If you have a good independent garage, ask them to enableit at the next service. ISTR it's called "anti-hijack". And locks the doors once the car is going 10mph or so....

This is free version that may well be able to do it for you.  Its the lite version.

Question's been asked before (I just looked :) ) Free version of VCDS lite won't save adaptations. So need to spend at least the $99 in order to DIY. I'm sure there are cheaper options but "hooky software" ones will proabbly result in this topic being locked or lost or both.

I wasnt suggesting an illegal version of vcds just the lite version from Ross Tech. I only suggested it as it may have helped the op as it has helped me in the past with the limited access i needed at the time for small modifications i.e all 4 doors opening from 1 click.

on VCDS it is called auto locking and is accessible through the adaption section of module 46, central convenience.

From what I've read the free version of VCDS-lite won't do it. I wasn't suggesting that you were recommending hooky software.... It came out of the thinking of costs of servicing vs VCDS-lite licence vs torrenting dodginess. Apols if that's what's seemed implied.

VCDS Lite will do it if you register the software for $99 with Ross Tech.

Better to get one from your local eBay.
