Xenons adjustment ?

Featured Replies

Need my Xenons adjusting up slightly. How? Which plastic screw and in what direction? They seem a tad low. Do I need VAG COM? If so can anyone help. I'm in West Yorks (See profile)

My understanding from the Ross-tech site is that you use VAG-COM to put the xenons in their central position and then adjust the height using the plastic screws..... :D

Chris

Yep you need VAG COM to put the lights into an adjustment setting or they will just self adjust again bck to where they were.

Will my dealer do it for me? (Under Warranty?)

You can ask, they wont get it under warranty but may do it as a token gesture.

Is part of an annual service.

I'll go down on Saturday morning and get them to look at it. Thanks Lummox

Just hoping my stuff will arrive soon - I've ordered some of the official kit and it's still not arrived :( (as in the Vagcom USB full kit)

IIRC, Jon (taviaRS) posted the procedure to alter the xenon adjustments. It was for his octy though, but guess the block positions in VAG-COM are the same for octy and furby ( )

So. All I need is someone near with VAG COM :orb_sad:

Apparently my dealer thinks it's part of every service to drop the lights down too low. Which means I tend to need to revisit them (annoyingly not had time :( )

One of the reasons I've got a Vagcom kit on order ;)

The first time my dealer adjusted them, they forget the "Learn" step and the headlights reverted to their previous positions. They also seem to do this whenever the battery has been disconnected.

Now I do the adjustment myself.

:) - great minds think alike (sometimes  )

The main reason for me to even bother getting VagCom is to be able to do this type of thing myself, and do a few logs pre-remap perhaps :)

With a bit of luck they'll do the same again as last time and I can get them to sort it FOC, but if (like last time) they forget to do it properly, I suppose I'll have to do it myself :D

I asked at an independant VW garage who has a Bosch diagnostic tool.

They can set up the xenons to my settings if required.
