Octavia arrived yesterday!

Just a quick hello. I've taken delivery of a 2009 Octavia SE 1.9 with fairly low mileage, my first Skoda. It made sense to me as I think it will be better for me than a Golf on which, I'm led to believe, it is based. I'm a DIY person so no doubt will be asking questions from time to time.

I've only driven it a few miles so far but it seems nice enough and the 1.9 Diesel engine seems to have a fair bit of wumph in it which is nice. It is replacing a Pug 306 Diesel with 330,000 miles on the clock although I have an idea that I'll be lucky to see that sort of mileage again with all the complicated electric string and valves on the engine!
