Does anybody else's blower motor get faster/more powerful when you select reverse?!

It wasn't very powerful, so I changed the pollen filter which was absolutely minging!

But for some reason it speeds up in reverse, I've never known it before ... Anyone experienced it??

it doesn't speed up; it opens the recirc flap so it doesn't take in air from outside as you reverse which would contain smoke from the exhaust.

I've also noticed it but never knew why, thanks for answering that.  Everyday's a school day but the seems of it.

Some Skoda dealers don't even know that.

 

When my MK1 Fab was nearly new and I had problems whilst away from  main base,  I managed to waste an hour of a provincial main dealers time quering that effect. Only resolved after he telephoned Chessington/Milton Keynes. He and I, knew after that.

 

What's the betting tbat info still basn't found its way into the owner's  handbook ?
