Octavia II radio dummy

Featured Replies

Hi to All,

I recieved my new Octavia recently. It is without radio because I want to install an mp3 player with hard disk. I do not know how to remove the dummy cover. I do not want to damage anything around it. It looks very stiff. Anyone has an idea how to remove it?

Thanks,

Pete

Hello, I think it's a secret. I asked how to remove my radio as I was thinking about installing a parrot blue tooth kit and no one replied :D

Should be really simple, I was bored in traffic the other day in my Loan Octy2 and wondered how easy it is to remove the centre consil trim (around the heating controls and up to the radio), all I did was gently pull at the bottom, just above the ash tray and it started to pop of no problem at all.

The radio removal is simplicity itself.

As golfturbo stated, open the ash tray and pull the bottom of the centre console. This starts to unclip it. Keep pulling around the heater controls and eventually the whole thing will come off. You may need a screwdriver just to ease the clips at the side of the console. This then gives you access to the sides of the stereo.

There are 4 cover plates, 1 in each corner of the head unit. Unclip these using a small screwdriver and there is a torx screw under each one. Remove the screws and hey presto the radio comes out!!
