Hi guys, I'll ask here as I'm pretty sure none of the Yeti'ists have done this yet...

 

I'm in the process of playing with lots of different suspension parts - different ARB's, lowering springs, dampers and bush combinations and I'm just overviewing any other related items... hence the question; has anyone uprated the top strut mounts on their car? From research I see that the Audi TT/RS3/A3 Cabriolet use a different OE part that's 30% stiffer. Has anyone replaced there's and if so, do you place any value on the upgrade?

On my mk1 TT I had previously I change the top mounts to Silver Project adjustable solid top mounts.

Could be a possibility if they produce them for the Yeti (or other VAG car with the same platform).

Anything that fits the TT/Mk5/6/RS3 in this area should fit the Yeti/Octavia - just wondering if anyone had done this mod on Briskoda - guessing not.

I think j0hn went for the tt top mounts? can't remember..

Alex @ aks has upgraded top mounts on his vrs estate but i forget which ones now. The other option would be some adjustable ones so you can get some camber on there..

edit: remembered, Alex's top mounts are "ground control".

Don't know about yeti's, but the octavia handling is transformed with some negative camber on the front. The octy OE components don't let you do this, but add adjustable top mounts, or tt wishbones, or super-pro adjustable ball joints and you be able to set up as you want.

Id never even considered that you could adjust the camber via the top mount - I knew about the wishbone and ball joint option though! Great stuff.
