Turbo's dying

Featured Replies

Apologies for asking about a Seat on a Skoda site, but the Ibiza site is mainly concerned with polishing their cars and changing the wheels.

I've got a PD130 Ibiza, so pretty much a Fabia VRS without the build quality, and my turbo's on the way out. What are everyones suggestions for replacement? Stay standard or go for a hybrid. What would you do if it was your car and your money?

I've got JabbaSport around the corner, so I'll probably go to them for the work to be done (don't like working on modern cars).

Thanks

Steve

The standard KKK turbo isn't known for being a solid reliable unit. So it is well worthwhile to upgrade given the opportunity.

If it was me I would go for a turbo from a guy called Xman on here. He can supply various ones depending on your budget and requirements.

A lot of people tend to go for either a hybrid PD150 or the GTB1749v for up to 200bhp with good mapping and retaining the side mount intercooler.

Darkside also do a drive in/drive out service here if you'd like a garage to do all the work it could be an idea...
