Would have been nice if they'd put an average summer tyre in there for a comparison.

I considered cheap **** winters but assumed they'd probably be no better than good summer tyres.

The 8th placed tyre deserved to come last for having a ridiculous name!

Imagine going into Kwik-Fit and asking for a set of Shandong Linglongs, the KF Fitters would roll around laughing at you - you'd have more success at an Anne Summers shop!

Unless you were actually chinese. Then itd just be normal really.

Imagine going into a Carry out shop in Beijing and asking for Lancashire Hotpot.

Yet nothing odd in the UK ordering Chicken Chow Mein, you can even get it as a Pot Noodle in shops.

'Michelin',

not very British, but probably made in Dundee or some other UK Factory.

Best never to get these fitted by Fast Foot Dancers and Chancers though.

Duh, I never thought of that

Although not actually called Lancashire Hot Pot (and not resembling a hot pot made to a Lancashire recipe), there are many varieties of lamb hot pot available in China. And given their appetite for all things Western, it can only be a matter of time before the Bejing MacDonalds launches a MacLancashire Hot Pot (you read it here first!)

So Lancashire Hotpot,

A bit like tyres produced all around the World, China, Korea, India and Branded under familiar names to the English Speaking

buying public, actually known under the Major Corporations Brand, who do the Same or virtually the same Tyres & Products under

other Brands.

'No Names' as thought of by the UK General Public that have a Man United Deal / Promotion and are a very big World Wide producer of good tyres.

Really? The place it got cuffed was "subjective rating". Take that out and it would at least worry Nokian and Pirelli.

As with all these tests, the results also depend on what tyre gets tested from the range - apples to apples and all that. Those Nokian WR D3s seem a surprisingly cheap/cost effective offering for a continental Europe tyre ...

I've had the misfortune of renting some cars with budget winters, Klebers and the like, and they really are of little use compared to a decent winter tyre. I also have some Michelins on the Yeti (thanks so much, dear cheapo dealer) which are pretty bad on snow and ice, bad enough for my wife to notice the big difference compared to the Nokian Hakkapeliitta Rs which we have been running.
