Vacuum Problem?

Featured Replies

Have recently bought a used 2007 PD105(BJB) Octavia.

It all started with a P0299 error code and occasionally P0236 code (Don't have VCDS, just the cheap Bluetooth dongle with Torque Application installed on phone). The car went into limp mode every time I hit 3000 RPM in 3rd gear and at lower RPM's in higher gears. Gave the car to a private garage to fix the problem, they came to a conclusion that Vacuum Solenoid Block is the culprit, changed it and the issue still persists. Then they said the Turbo is knackered, changed the Turbo, still the P0299 code was getting logged under load. Went to garage again.

They claim to have fixed the issue but a new problem has cropped up, The EGR flap is not operated when the MAP sensor is connected. When the MAP is disconnected, it starts working. The car also sounds a bit rough and the brakes are also affected(doesn't bite the disk as it used to). There are no error codes logged and they are simply clueless, The car is already with them for the past 15 days with no resolution.

The parts are sourced from 2 donor cars which do not have any issue. Will change the required parts only after the issue is identified.

What could be the problem here?

all a bit hazy but  after the vac pump  ( which needs checking first) there is a "T" and a small non return valve that can get clogged both that and the surrounding pipework needs checking first

Thanks for the advice mate!! There was a blockage in one of the pipe(Don't know which one as I was not present when it was discovered) and the EGR itself was found to be faulty.

Changed the EGR and the car was back to its glory. The joy didn't last long though. The sealant in the oil feed pipe to the turbo gave away under pressure and leaked all the engine oil before I could pull over. Initial verdict is the Turbo is OK. I have sent the Turbo to expert for examining, I hope the it's OK and this is the end of all the issues.

Once again, Thanks for your valuable input.
