Skoda hasn't done too well in the towcar awards this year....the only one in it was the Octy II 2.0tdi elegance.

Which cars did well? Subaru always used to be highly regarded but have seemed to fall from favour recently :confused:

but the xtrail was a 2wd version??-- whats the point of bringing out a 2wd4wd??? certainly wouldn't consider the Citroen

IMHO the biggest failing of the TCOW tests is not considering the more practical considerations :

will it still be useable in 3 years time ( ie is the build quality cr4p?)

and is it affordable by the average driver? ( ie let the rich gits do their own research)

A colleague recently changed from a V6 Vectra to an Audi A6 V6 TDi (previous shape)

He keep saying he doesnt know how he managed with the Vectra, the Audi is a fantastic towing car.

We've just bought the new octavia 4x4 1.9d for towing in favour of keeping the wife's rav will let you know what happens when we get the caravan

Well my Octy 2.0 TDI tows very well and I'm pleased with it, did look at a Kia Sorento (6 months old) before I brought the Octy and just thought I'd spend a fortune on fuel even when not towing if I had one and it wasn't so nice to drive solo
