Disable a Roomster 1.9TDI with VCDS

Featured Replies

I'm going to leave my Roomie parked up for a while and I wondered if there was a setting that could be changed that stopped the engine from firing.

Years ago I used to remove the distributor arm, not the most sophisticated of fiddles, but I thought it would deter a car thief if they had the keys.

Now since I have VCDS I'm thinking there must be setting somewhere I can change and the engine would be dead until I undid my change.

Never seen anything like that in VCDS. You could unplug the coil packs on a petrol engine. Can't think of anything obvious on a pd diesel.

I once saw on Instagram a throttle pedal unit. Improves the throttle response on a car but has a safety feature of disabling the pedal response. this would make the pedal be unresponsive in case of theft
