Need 4 new Tyres

Featured Replies

Hi to all you guys, I will need to replace my tyres on all 4 soon before we drive back to Portugal looking around £200 for new tyres. I have seen websites like black circle and my tyres. Is anyone can recommend a mid range tyre for my skoda 2.0 fsi estate. Black circle are doing there own brand quality tyres link here

Thanks guys.

Continental WinterContact TS800/850 - the best "universal" tire.

It last, with my driving style, 8,000km.

Great wet performance.

Slightly noisier under heavy load.

Same fuel consumption.

Still decent winter performace (but it is not BF Goodrige Winter Slalom).

About 240€ per set (including balancing and montage)

I highly recommend Hancook V12 Evos as well, i have them on my Octavia and V12 Evo2's on my wifes Leon FR, they provide great wet grip and feel good on the road.

I paid £70+VAT a corner fitted and balanced.

I also want to say, without saying what size the tyres are its hard to give solid advice. The Octy can take 195/65R15s in which you can get top end rubber for £60/corner or 225/40R18 which you're looking at £100 for midrange.

thanks guys great help have seen on tyre leader Hancooks for 45 a tyre not bad does not include the fitting though :sun:  :sun:

I found Maxxis tyres reasonable for the money. Grippy but noisy.

Swear by the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyre now but out your budget.

Not a bad tyre at all - we swapped my Wife's Mini Clubman Cooper S onto 4 of those, from the R/Fs it had fitted.

Dunlop Sport Blue Response - about £54/corner all in (195/65 R15).  Quieter than most.

Maxxis does best tires for MTB bikes.

They used to be rubbish on cars - I see they improved significantly?

I liked them but there were very loud especially when they started to wear down a bit.

They were weirdly very good in snow. I got through some crazy stuff with new Maxxis MAZ1s.

Hi  guys got my tyres sorted out today, Avon Z5 205/55/16 V91 X4 FOR £201 including the fitting through the AA WEBSITE and done at national tyres UK just round the corner from me. First impressions they are alot quieter than the Dunlop sport response ones I had on before. So saved £65 pounds on the retail price ,not bad  :D .

I have set my tyre pressures to 35 alround psi as there seems to be a debate on this forum as what psi should be and alot say 34 to 35.

Thanks Guys

Have a look at maxxis maz3 on eBay they were about £220 delivered for a set of 4 last time I looked.
