How many gears?

Featured Replies

I may be missing something, but I can't see anywhere in the brochure for the new Fabias that it says how many gears the manual version of each model has.

The only reference to the number of gears I can find is on page 42, in the engine specification section, where it says "Manual transmission: Fully synchronised five or six speed manual transmission". But nowhere in the table above this sentence, or elsewhere, does it actually specify how many gears you get.

I feel like I must be stupid, as I find it hard to believe this isn't mentioned anywhere, but I certainly can't find it.

Does anyone know how many gears you get with each engine?

1.0l and 1.2 TSI 90 have 5 speed manual 'boxes as well as the lower power diesel whereas both the higher power diesel and the 110 TSI have 6 speed 'boxes.

The TSI 110 can also be had with the DSG, not sure about the diesel though.

Only the 1.2 TSI 110PS has 6-speed manual.. Diesels are all 5-speed..

If they ever did launch a vRS model.. that will be 6-speed..

dsg in 90hp diesel only.

1.0mpi 5 speed only

1.2tsi 90 is 5 speed

1.2tsi 110 is 6 speed manual & 7 speed dsg

1.4tdi 90 is 5 speed manual & speed dsg

1.4tdi 105 is 6 speed manual

1.4tdi 105 is 6 speed manual

not according to the Skoda Car builder it isn't and the manual.. where did you get that info from?

Sorry I made a mistake there. 5 speed manual for the diesel and dsg only on 90hp version

Thanks guys. Just shows how confusing it is that there are conflicting answers. For the life of me I can't imagine why this is not detailed in the brochure - unless it's simply incompetence on SUK's part?
