Nice noises

Featured Replies

Well for the first time since owning my new VRS and the odometer showing 800 miles I was out in the car on my own - no children, no wife and no traffic.

I dumped the right foot to see how it picked up. I had the window slightly open and to my delight the first thing that hit me was the proper old school whooosh and whistle as DSG dropped a couple of cogs, the charger began to whine and the turbo whistling as it spooled up.

Really impressed with this little engine! It sounds awesome and drives like a far bigger chested engine.

I honestly think that this engine will gain a great following in years to come - especially as people are getting to grips with its foibles.

Yea it does sound lovely. Miss the summer when I have all the windows down. Sounds even better then! Just wish the exhaust noise was a little louder. I'm going to remove centre silencer at some point. Sounds awesome. There's loads of vids on YouTube if you want to check it out

Totally Agree! Cracking Performance and noise for a 1.4

As above

Good performance for a 1.4 but the exhaust could make a much better noise than it does

Driving in tunnels with the window down not that exciting any more !

And here's what it sounds like with resonator removed.

Filmed from inside with windows closed.

How much did you pay for the delete mate?

How much did you pay for the delete mate?

Don't really know as it was a complete new T304 Stainless system. I just asked them not to include a resonator.
