Can I be cheeky and ask if you have any pics please? I really can't decided between standard silver or smoked/shadow chrome.

That is insanely nice! I'm so torn between that and a light silver, like OEM...

Thanks!

Wheel specialist for me two, Leeds branch , 280 , you paid way too much mouldy, better than new after, I had smoked chrome on my Octavia vRS 8 years ago ,and the price was and is the same now when I had my omanyts done

Don't forget that £400 was for 5 wheels and was for drive in-drive out, including stripping the tyres, re-fitting and re-balancing when done.  If you paid £280 for 4, each wheel was £70.  I paid £80 per wheel, so I'm not unhappy.  Remember that they are franchises, so all branches will have their own criteria for discounting anyway.

I've read lots of positive comments about the Leeds branch, but it is just too far from Northampton, so I had a choice of Burton, Nottingham, Birmingham or St Albans which are all about the same distance from where I live.  The service was spot on and the wheels look great.  Mine are finished in Light Gunmetal.

I'll try to post some pictures when I can, but its been raining overnight and I need to clean the car first!!

Did not realise it was for five , yes when I had my R36 done I did all 5 wheels still for 70 each so yours is not that far off . Same day completion too

I've just pulled the spare out of the boot to illustrate the finish and colour of my wheels.  I won't have time to wash the car until the weekend, as long as the rain holds off, so will try to upload some of the wheels on the car then.

Thanks all. Looking forward to seeing the images, Mouldy.

Just had another thought however... For £270-300, I can get them refurbished. Is it still worth it when I can get some brand new aftermarket rims for not much more?

EDIT - Didn't realise there was a second page! Very nice!  Without meaning to offend, the finish doesn't appear to be as smooth as I expected.  Is that what powder coating naturally looks like, or is it 'orange peel' in the paint work?

Those aftermarket ones are like you get down the market!, they will look good for 6 months tops, In the 1st set of pictures, apart from the 1st one off the car with the original badges, mine had been on the car two years and still like new , my profile page shows my R36 with the refurbed wheels, ( previous owner had them black!) at two years on

The wheel bolt seating is clear of powder coating i hope.

ok but whats that got to do with powder coated wheels?

If his standard of driving is anything like his standard of work?

They are driving a 'The Wheel Specialist' logo'd vehicle, what he does whilst driving that vehicle is a reflection on them.

I disagree Fin69

How is the standard of driving a reflection of the workmanship?

Your thoughts?

I could only watch on mobile as my security stopped it from opening on Cumputer so far too tiny to see what's on the van

My thoughts are; you put your company name on your vehicle as a statement of intent.

It's a mobile advert for your company and your work; This is me and this is what I do.

Would you get into a taxi if you saw it being driven the way this vehicle was ?

Would you entrust your vehicle with a mechanic if he turned up in a battered, rusty car?

I may be in a minority here, but I have deliberately not chosen a company for work in my home after one of their vehicles cut me up on the motorway.

And my personal experience of dealing with The Wheel Specialist; 10 days, and 3 attempts to sort out my wheels, losing my wheel storage bags, backs this up.

I would not choose them again.

Bloody hell, those grapes are sour!! So you had a bad experience with one of the Wheel Specialist franchises. Does this mean that they are all the same?

The majority of feedback I've seen for them is positive, perhaps you were just unlucky, but is it necessary to conduct a witch hunt to try to discredit all of their branches.

My own experience was positive and I would not hesitate to recommend the branch at Burton on Trent.

My two penn'rth!!

So, yesterday afternoon the wheels came off the car, were cleaned and a coat of wheel polish was applied, then refitted to the car and the bolts re-torqued.

This morning, even with the knowledge that wet weather was expected( which proved totally accurate at it is now pi$$ing down here), the car was washed, dried and some Megs Endurance gel applied to the tyres.

Would say both reviews are valid, just because it's bad doesn't mean they can't post it because you don't share the view.

Admittedly not all the same so as with every franchise standards will differ so generally sweeping not accurate

Wheel polish?

I don't know of one......

Do you mean wax?

OR sealer?

Had my quote of £270 confirmed but they said it would have to be a cash payment. Should I be wary? Will they pull a fast one and not give a guarantee?

No..They are reputable

Wax - bought from The Wheel Specialist when they were powder coated.

I might try that Carbon Collective tackle when I get more time, but some protection has been applied for the time being.

Its good..You wont be disappointed, but you must completely remove any product before application

On the eastern edge of the Dordogne, its at a place called Rocamadour.  Its a beautiful area and we revisited there this year on our way back from the Tarn Gorges area, near Millau.
