Fabia 1.9 TDI Gearbox issues

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have a 51 plate fabia that has a weird issue,

When letting the clutch out after engaging a gear you get a sort of like a feeling as if the wheels don't start turning straight away (not even a second) then a sort of metal hitting metal click clunk sound as the wheels start moving (the sound doesn't stay),

You can get this to happen as well when driving if you let off the gas and press on the gas really quickly,

Its a really hard thing to explain!

I've tested to ensure nothing is wrong with the clutch (Slow speed high gear),

The sound comes from the left side of the engine bay when sat in the car.

I have changed the N/S DriveShaft and the N/S engine mount which has made no difference.

Any ideas? I dont have a DMF fitted but could a normal Flywheel cause such issues?

Cheers

Bit of a puzzle?

Is the clutch on the way out?

Could also check the console bushes and the rear engine mount.

Dont think it will be the clutch, but who knows,

I replaced the dogbone bush with a powerflex one and that also didn't make any difference,

I am going to have a look into the console bushes,

Cheers
