My father in law owns a lovely 2001 R129 Mercedes Benz SL500 Silver arrow and is looking to sell it for something 4wd and bigger as they've just got a Doberman and she won't fit in this car!

He's put me in charge of selling it for him and finding him a replacement, something I quite enjoy! Spending other people's money!

5 speed Automatic gearbox.

 

Purchased two years ago from his business partner - she needed something bigger and he wanted something flashy.

118k miles.

Full service history.

Two previous owners.

Recent service and new tyres.

Massive spec inc xenons etc.

Soft top with Hard top included and currently fitted.

Bad bits - rust bubbles under both front wheel arches.

Interior wood trim a bit worn, could do with new piece on handbrake console.
 

Scuff on front corner of bumper.

After a quick discussion with a few dealers and a forum dealer - you know who you are the car is being reduced considerably to £7500.

Reason for this is mainly we hadn't taken the mileage into consideration and he has put a deposit down on something from vw...

Looking on mb forums, you could get new wings and get those painted along with the front bumper for less than £1500. Not sure on the wood trim or the steering wheel. Would probably be easiest to replace with a black wheel. It'd be a lovely looking car once sorted though.

Got someone coming to view it this week from the MB forums

Have debated doing the bits but decided best to show it as an honest car rather than had loads of paint work and look suspicious.
